Awen Cultural Trust is looking for new trustees
Could you help us find innovative ways to engage a wider audience, better embrace and celebrate our Welsh identity, cultures and language, all while championing social inclusion, climate justice and financial sustainability?
Awen is a charity that delivers a wide range of cultural facilities and activities right across south east Wales.
These include arts and theatres, libraries, learning disability programmes and a 113 acre heritage country park.
The Awen mission is focused on:
- People – tackling social isolation and improve wellbeing using culture to connect people
- Places – supporting local economic recovery by investing in facilities and encouraging visitors
- Good business – listening to our workforce and supporting their wellbeing while being sustainable business
As a trustee, you will be supporting the board with your skills, attributes and lived experience to provide leadership, challenge, strategic direction and good governance in support of the organisation and its teams.
To extend our skills and expertise, we are ideally looking for trustees who have leadership or lived experience and can support across any of the following areas:
- Arts and creative industries
- Health and social care
- Equity and inclusion
- Social enterprise
- Legal
- Financial management
We are committed to ensuring our board of trustees is representative of our communities and offers a diversity of ideas in support of what we do.
