What we do
Creative Wellbeing:
Environment
Outdoor Theatre
Our summer season of outdoor theatre at Bryngarw Country Park features family friendly performances alongside colourful classics, providing something for everyone within our accessible, beautiful grounds.
Breathing Space
In partnership with Tanio, and part of our socially prescribed programme of work, Breathing Spaces are a mixed media creative space for building health and wellbeing alongside community.
Weekly sessions led by professional artists provide a cathartic space for self-expression and personal growth, often within or near nature such as our Y Nyth space at Bryngarw Park, and Awel Y Mor Community Centre in Porthcawl.
Healing Nature
Working with Dr Leah Salter, a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples and families this social prescribing project involves creative writing, storytelling, walking and talking through the healing natural spaces at Bryngarw Park.
Workshops and Events
Developing art in everyday spaces through our Wonderful Windows project and Street Art programmes is an essential part of breaking barriers and developing creative communities.
Y Nyth – our education centre at Bryngarw Country Park is a beautiful space where we curate a range of one-off workshops in areas such as art and photography, as well as therapeutic performances connecting back to nature such as ‘Harp in the Park’ which celebrates the natural environment alongside the traditional instrument of Wales.
Summer in the lawn features other creative wellbeing activity from gong baths to pop up theatre with environmental themes and more. Story trails and art installations through the woods at Bryngarw can also be found, with several of these events also taking place in parks near our other venues in Maesteg, Blaengarw and Abertillery.
