It has been a difficult time with some tough choices to make, but this funding will now help us greatly as we plan for the future. It will enable us to retain a core team of specialist venue staff who, together with our leadership team at Awen Cultural Trust, can start to develop a new creative vision for our venues and plan effectively for the reopening of the Grand Pavilion, Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall and of course Maesteg Town Hall which is currently undergoing a multi-million pound re-development. Space adaptations, new technologies and headroom to undertake test events can now take shape.

The positive social impact that arts and culture has on people’s lives and our local communities – and its powerful contribution to health and wellbeing – cannot be underestimated, and we are grateful to our funders who can see the difference we are making, and are investing in our future.
